Let's have a vote. How many of you are aghast/relieved/excited/terrified that we're finally coming upon November 4th, 2008?
They 'aye's' have it! Best of luck to everyone -- for your battled-out causes, for your own run for office, for your country, for your rights, for a little peace (knock on wood).
I'm exhausted going in to it, but I plan to stand 100+ feet away from the polls tomorrow and try to . . . hmmm. . . try to what? I don't know. Quell my anxiety mostly. Put a face to the vote. Remind people what the 'no' vote means.
Drink free coffee from Starbucks. Maybe. Then maybe go have some free ice cream at Ben & Jerry's. I could also get into the Atlanta Zoo for free, but I think I'll go to work instead. Once there, I'll pace my office and wait for the polls to start closing.

I'm so glad there are lovely people such as you in CA who will not only be voting against Prop 8, but have put in preliminary work to intelligently encourage others to vote against it as well.
This is a huge day. Oddly enough I'm more worried about CA than the president... I voted for Obama but either way I think it's a big step up from W.
I don't know what to say... good luck! I hope and pray that 8 won't pass. When do the polls in CA close?
Thanks, Limes. I hope the work pays off. I spent the morning at a polling place and it was interesting. Long lines and lots of excitement.
Adam: Polls close at 8 p.m. Folks are guessing that we won't have results until tomorrow though. I don't know if I can hold my breath that long. At least "they" are saying we should know about the presidential race by then.
Oh gosh. I don't know if I'll sleep tonight if that's the case.
Although, this whole mess is not over, I'm afraid. There will be more in the future.
You and me both.
Indeed. One step at a time. Today the election, tomorrow the world! No, just kidding. I think civil rights have always threatened some people and it's an on-going process. I do wish the churches and other fearfuls would stop attacking -- imagine what that $75mil that both sides raised (in total) could have done.
"imagine what that $75mil that both sides raised (in total) could have done."
That idea is one of the things that really pushed me off the neutral edge.
