I have tried to stop reading the comments in response to articles re: Prop 8 on Sacramento's newspaper webpage (sacbee.com). I have tried to stop reading blogs written by ignorant people and then also tried not to read the comments validating the ignoramus. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail. Sometimes I comment myself and end up saying mean (but true) things because I'm so overwhelmed with anger at other people's stupidity and bigotry that they wrap up with a cloak of "religious" arguments. Seriously, folks. You sound stupid, and this is my blog, so I get to say it: you sound stupid.
Today I was reading a debate about 'why do you want to get married anyway?' which is the same as saying, "Why isn't your second class citizenship good enough for you?" when I found this comment:

Really? Really?? I would like to meet Mr. "Tired of Socialists" (I assume it's a man because don't you know that all lesbians are man-haters, and of course I would assume that). I don't want to discuss the issue with him. I want to punch him. Hard.
What the heck is going on here? I didn't get the memo about all the recruiting I'm supposed to be doing, so I guess I've got some catching up to do. I'm just guessing at the rules because my Gay Handbook was not delivered and I missed the Gay World-Domination Meeting, so I might be off on this, but it sounds like it's best to start with really young people -- maybe even grade school. From there I think highschools are probably best because we all know high school students are compliant and don't think for themselves. Then after that, I'll just go door to door.
But first, I'm going to kickboxing and bootcamp classes at my gym -- I've got to get ready for my meeting with Tired of Socialists.

You really have to practice some self-control with those comments on newspapers! Not that I do, in fact, I'm a bit compulsive about reading them and it is not healthy!
Kickboxin' and bootcamp are good, but I'm goin' up to the shootin' range to practice for the socialist lesbian militia too. I just have to be a little bit careful about the bumper stickers on my pickup truck when I go up there.
