Careful what you wish for

Last week I complained that my schedule was so packed and that I was tired and I needed someone to handle all my stuff for me.
I'm happy to report that I did get my dishes done, I spent some time cooking this weekend (and plan to again this weekend), and I had time to lay on the floor with my cats and remind them that I love them. It seems I can handle my schedule afterall.

Unfortunately, however, it's going to change dramatically in very short order. The Gym decided to make some big changes to its aerobics and cycling schedule and in the process, it canceled both of my evening cycling classes - Mondays and Tuesdays. I don't think that's what I had in mind when I was whining about being tired, but the Lord works in mysterious ways.

Just in case the divine plan is not revealed to me, if anyone knows a way I could make a little extra money, I'm open to suggestions.

The last two years have changed my perspective of myself and the way I relate with other people. And I've watched people come in to class and change their own perceptions of themselves and their abilities. I've made friends, I've chased people away (whoops), I've tried very hard to be an instructor who makes people want to work harder, to have fun, and to learn more about how to make fitness part of their lives, and I've sincerely enjoyed all of it.
Saying goodbye to these classes, these people, is not easy. Of course we're all still here, but I don't think it will be quite the same.
Who knows -- maybe some fancy new gym will move into Southport and we'll all have someplace to cycle (on bikes made this millennium) in peace.

For now though, it makes me incredibly sad.

It makes a lot of other people sad too. You are an awesome coach / instructor. Why, even 100 miles away, I'm sitting on the couch right now whining about my cold and thinking 'H wouldn't let bronchitis, let alone a stuffy head, stop her from riding...it probably won't kill me at least to jog for ten minutes.'

Doesn't seem likely that those motivational talents will go untapped for very long. May your skills be properly appreciated (and compensated) in the future.
