Get on your bike for good!

I now pronounce you . . .

I can't sleep tonight. Sleeping is one of my favorite things. But being awake in the midst of all this quiet offers an opportunity to hear the subtle noises. One of my cats snores. The pond sounds rather gentle and lulling when the wind isn't blowing at 30 mph. The dryer's rotation is too slow to ever be set to a spinning class. Not everyone is at home in bed unable to sleep -- there are still motorcycles and rumbly cars zooming home every few minutes or so.
There's some sort of calm in the summer nights that nothing else can duplicate.
Even so -- surrounded by only occasionally-interrupted silence, I haven't heard the poor institution of marriage sigh its last.

Maybe they were wrong.

This blog is a large contrast to the mood you were in while making fun of me shirtless yesterday. I lay in bed and watch the tops of the trees sway at night when I can't sleep. The sound of the breeze blowing them about always calms me. This what I will miss the most when I move.
