It's my Party, and I'll show if I want to. . .

So I planned a fabulous surprise party for a friend last week. Lots of people and food and cheesecake and cupcakes and whatnot. She and her son were going to come over and hang out and celebrate their birthdays, both in September. Then she emailed a few days before and said she suddenly had to leave town for work and she would not be able to come over, for what she thought would be a mundane night of hanging out with me, and my cats.

I, however, had to cancel on the many people who were planning to come and then re-think.
She and her son came over for a quiet Sunday afternoon, two surprise partiers showed up to surprise her and eat cake. Lovely time, even if I had to adjust to change (gasp!).

The boy watching the Princess Bride -- the only movie I own that was remotely interesting. And you've got to love the boy for liking this movie. I was only a little bit sad to be confined to the 'adult table.'
This one didn't really come out, but I had to admire the guy for his creativity.
